Announcing the Eastern Iowa MINIs Penultimate ‘08 IA-MN Border Skirmish Drive, to be held on Saturday, November 1st!

Yes, we all know that the bronze hog known as Floyd of Rosedale will not be contested until deep into the month of November; however, it’s never too early to make a few quick, strategic strikes across the border. So, recognizing that the EIM Iowa City Roundup on Oct 25 might leave some appetites sufficiently whetted for some quality motoring, plus the fact that several EIM’ers have expressed an interest in an end-of-year motoring event up here in the northeast Iowa Alps before the need to shift to snow tires; thus this Penultimate ‘08 IA-MN Border Skirmish Drive was hatched.

Sunday, October 19, 2008 at 9 am - 1 pm drive. Lunch at 1 pm.
Starting Location: Meet at Cooper Park near Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, WI at N. 87th St. & W. Chambers St.   Map

Milwaukee MINIs has brought back their Fall Foliage Drive & (Non-Alcoholic) Poker Run by popular request with a revised route, and virtually all right-hand turns! They will have a pre-drive meeting at Cooper Park, and then begin a 65-mile adventure including rustic roads in the Holy Hill area and the Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive in the Lake Country area to enjoy the fall colors.

Afterwards, the group will eat lunch in Delafield, WI at your choice of Wells Street Tavern or The Loaf & Jug. Both of the Delafield restaurants are next door to each other.  Map

The Poker Run for those who are not familiar with it, is a drive which includes a number of stops along the way where each driver collects a playing card. The driver with the best poker hand at the end of the drive wins!

Please let Theresa Nemetz know via an email response by Friday Oct. 17th at 9AM if you & guests plan on attending, so that she will have a potential head count.  They have requested an advance RSVP.
